Stressed? Angry? Get FREE Help
Hurricane Ike recovery is well underway. But, the process is hard. People are worried about money, jobs, their homes, their families, their future.
As you try to rebuild you might feel stressed, angry, and frustrated. It can help if you take care of yourself, share your feelings with others, get enough sleep, eat healthy food, recognize your limits, prioritize you time, and keep in touch with family and friends.
But, you don't need to deal with these feelings all on your own. FEMA and the State of Texas have a program for free crisis counseling. These counselors are people who are trained to listen and help. What you are feeling is normal, and a crisis counselor can tell you things that you can do to help you deal with those feelings. With support and information, the majority of disaster survivors can pick up the pieces and go on with their lives. So, while you are taking care of your home and your family, make sure you also take care of yourself.
