How Mold Affects Your Health
In large quantities, mold can be very dangerous to your health.
Mold can cause:
- Asthma attacks
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Eye, skin, nose, throat and lung irritations
- Allergic reactions like sneezing, a runny nose, red eyes and skin rash
Who’s at Risk?
The following individuals are at the greatest risk of the harmful effects of mold:
- Infants and children
- The elderly
- Pregnant women
- People with immune-compromised related diseases (such as HIV, cancer patients taking chemotherapy, or people who have received an organ transplant)
- People with existing respiratory conditions, such as asthma
