Tens of Thousands Will Need Temporary Housing After Ike
If you or someone you know has been displaced by the damage caused by Hurricane Ike, there are places you can turn to find temporary housing.
Residents may apply for assistance through FEMA either by it's website or by calling its 24-hour hot line at 1-800-621-FEMA. (or 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing and speech impaired) In instances where residents cannot return to their homes due to damage or a dangerous situation, FEMA will pay for extended hotel and motel stays. Assistance will be available until October 14th.
